She just says that for the benefit of the dumb Amercians most of whom have a limited sense of geography. It would confuse them with the idea of Scottish, Welsh , or English accents so she just says British to keep things simple for them.
That’s because Americans find it easier to understand.
They can’t grasp the idea that Britain isn’t a country.
It will just confuse them.
Most don’t even know where it is.
It’s annoying when Americans call it a ‘British accent’.
Britain is more than one country.
You need to be more specific and say it’s an ENGLISH accent.
