Last month rapper T.I. and his wife, “Tiny” Tameka Cottle , were arrested on drug charges after they were involved in a traffic stop in West Hollywood.  Today the state of California dropped the drug charges against him.  The reason for their decision?: a Georgia judge has already ordered T.I. back to prison for 11 months for violating his parole. Part of T.I.’s parole agreement was that any arrest or failed drug test would be considered a violation and would land him back in prison – exactly what has happened. Defense lawyer Steve Sadow told CNN the decision to drop the charges was “the right thing to do under the circumstances.” “Both his Los Angeles defense attorney, Blair Berk, and myself commend the Los Angeles district attorney’s office for exercising its discretion to reject prosecution in light of the legal and factual issues involved,” Sadow said. So pretty much he’s still in trouble and going back to prison, but he just won’t have the drug charges against him in California.  I was a little confused the first time I read the article!  Oy.  Hopefully after this next prison stint, he will come out with a new outlook and keep on the straight and narrow.
