Miley Cyrus Bong Owner Looking To Profit On Scandal

This story just goes to show: people will do ANYTHING to make a dollar! Remember the infamous Miley Cyrus bong video ? Well, now, nearly one month later, the owner of the bong Miley was using is trying to SELL it , according to TMZ. When we last checked in with Mr. Bong Owner, he was telling friends he did not want to part with the item because it held “sentimental value.” Now the term “actual value” has entered his vocabulary, and Mr. Bong Owner tells us he’s now looking to cash in. He’s even set up an email account to field offers – mileycyrusbong@gmail.com — and thinks he can get close to “five figures.” You might have made the money if you’d sold it when everyone was going crazy over the video , but now? It sounds like Miley Cyrus isn’t letting the whole bong video controversy bother her. She reportedly showed up to rehearsals for her new movie, ‘ So Undercover ,’ and remained focused. Miley arrived in New Orleans last week to shoot “So Undercover” — and sources close to the production say hours after TMZ published the video of Miley taking bong hits … she showed up for rehearsals. We’re told Miley and her co-star – Kelly Osbourne — ran through script lines, as scheduled, on Friday. According to our sources … Miley knew the bong video was out, but “she kept her focus on the movie.” Well, that’s good to hear. It’s not like she hasn’t been at the center of controversy before! Hmmm… wonder what was going on with Miley Cyrus yesterday? She doesn’t look like her normal upbeat self leaving this recording studio in Los Angeles. I think Miley’s made it pretty clear she’s no longer all that interested in doing music, although she could have been doing some recording for a movie (often actors re-record their dialogue after a movie’s been shot, to improve the sound quality). Are you going to miss Miley’s music or are you looking forward to her movies? Miley Cyrus was spotted in an, um, eclectic outfit while out and about in Toluca Lake, CA, yesterday. Hey, that’s part of the fun of being a teenager: you get to try all kinds of things, fashion-wise! (Not that that has to stop when you’re older, but most of us who aren’t entertainers typically get a little more conservative ). Maybe Miley’s getting ready for Halloween? Miley Cyrus, her mom, and little sister Noah were photographed as they grabbed lunch together. When they came back out, Miley posed for photos with some fans and then seemed to confront a woman (pap?) who was videotaping them. Hugh Jackman showed off his legs as he worked out in NYC this afternoon. This guy never sits still, does he? He is one of the most active celebrities out there – always working on his fitness. David Arquette and daughter Coco were spotted out and about in Los Angeles. David was then seen at a local soup kitchen helping to haul food in with a wagon (not pictured). I can’t say it shocks me that people are reacting to Miley Cyrus’ latest video, ‘Who Owns My Heart ,’ so I was kind of expecting to hear something like this. TMZ reports that the Parents Television Council is upset about the video. Tim Winter — President of the Parents Television Council — tells TMZ, “It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one.” Winter continues, “It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly.” This is something every child star who wants to continue their career as an adult has to deal with: how to start appealing to adult audiences. But does that transition always have to include becoming so sexualized, with the revealing photoshoots and videos like ‘Who Owns My Heart’? Miley isn’t even 18 yet! And some of you noted in the comments that Miley seemed to be trying too hard to be sexy- I suspect that’s because she doesn’t have the maturity to carry this persona off yet. But sex does sell. No question about that. And all this attention is free publicity for the ‘Who Owns My Heart’ single and video. If you have a daughter who loves Hannah Montana, are you letting her follow Miley or are you restricting her to Miley on the Disney channel? Photos by FAME and WENN.com
