I know everyone likes to get married in the spring and summer, but I’ve been to some incredibly romantic winter weddings! Vanessa Minnillo told People she initially didn’t want a winter wedding but is now rethinking it, given what a hard time she and Nick Lachey are having finding the time to get married. “It’s just because of our work schedules,” the TV personality tells PEOPLE. “For us, work is important. It’s our creative outlet, it’s what keeps us going, it keeps us busy, and we want to be sure that we work around that.” Vanessa, MAKE the time! LOL “[I saw] a wedding booklet about the Ritz-Carlton weddings that they do and it was a winter theme and it was beautiful,” she said. “Something about winter, it’s one of my favorite seasons, it’s very romantic. The twinkle lights and the greenery and the snow. So that taught me I need to be more open-minded. We’ll figure it out.” I hope so . Vanessa said she’s refusing to let herself stress over wedding details. “We’re easy, that’s what I love about it,” she says. “Neither of us are letting it dictate our lives. Since announcing their engagement three months ago, Vanessa Minnillo says she and Nick Lachey haven’t set a wedding date yet – and they aren’t in any hurry to. We’re enjoying being engaged. Everyone rushes to the next step, and I like this step.” It seems that Vanessa is too busy with work to even think about setting a date – she’s scheduled for appearances on several TV shows coming up: Hawaii Five-O , CSI: New York , and 30 Rock , to name just a few. “It’s been a busy time, and it’s a fun time. To be standing on the street in Manhattan with Tina Fey and Elizabeth Banks is pretty cool. This is work, but this is pretty cool. I just really want to be their best friends.” She did share that the one thing she’s most looking forward to about getting married: “the first time that Nick will see me come down the aisle,” Awww. I guess Nick Lachey was just kidding around when he hinted to Rachael Ray on her show that he and Vanessa Minnillo might just decide to get married on their New Year’s Eve trip to Tuscany! UsMagazine reports that Vanessa set the record straight and will not be getting married in a few weeks! “He was joking, we’re not getting married in Italy” “I think that’s the game of telephone, he said it sarcastically.” Well I can’t blame her – this is her first wedding and I bet she wants to enjoy everything surrounding it, including the planning! She did just get engaged, so you can’t blame a girl for wanted to enjoy her engagement for a while! “We’re enjoying the bliss of it,” “I feel irresponsible for not having a date, but someone made a great point, when you’re dating everyone is always asking when you’re getting engaged. When you’re engaged everyone is always asking when you’re getting married. When you get married they start asking when you’re going to get pregnant. Instead of keeping up with the Jones’, we’re just enjoying it.” That’s so true – I bet once they get married the tabloids will have her pregnant in no time! I wonder if she’s waiting for Jessica Simpson to get married first so she can ensure that there’s enough time between their weddings, especially after the ‘uncanny’ timing of their respective engagements ! Nick Lachey sat down to chat about popping the question to long-time love Vanessa Minnillo. He tells Access Hollywood : “I think that we have a great relationship. The good thing about our situation is that we kind of took our time with it. We’ve been together four and half years, so it’s just, the right thing at the right time for us,” The day of the proposal just felt like the right moment, he shared: “We had a great evening, a great day, it just seemed like the right time. It was a romantic moment, a perfect moment, and she said, ‘Yes,’ so that was the most important part.” He even opened up about their brief breakup back in 2009: “We took a break for a little while there… I think that’s a healthy thing sometimes, when you’re kind of going through the growing process,” Nick continued. “The way I’ve always looked at it is, if you come out on the other side and you’ve learned something and you can kind of apply it to the next time that situation comes up, then you’re growing as a couple, and that’s what exciting to me.
