@albert24138 Oh yeah (sorry about all these messages), and Markus is NOT a pure vampire (at least he isn’t after his latest awakening). When the blood of that werewolf dripped into his mouth when he was hibernating, he became a Vampire-dominant hybrid (was a vampire first, but then introduced to the lycan strain), as oppossed to a Lycan-dominant hybrid (first a lycan, then introduce to the vampire strain) aka Michael
@albert24138 And I was wrong; had Will and Mark never been bitten, they would be like Alex. They were born with the Corvinus Strain already activated within them. The third son didn’t, which meant that even if he was bitten by a regular bat or wolf, he wouldn’t have any supernatural reactions.
@albert24138 Most of the things I said were assumed, based on my experience of watching the movies and studying biology in school. As I looked into it further, I found that the gene I was referring to is called the Corvinus Strain.
@albert24138 Sometimes I just click with some story arcs and I just absorb every little detail. You can look up stuff about it on the Underworld Wiki, which combines the information from all three books AND all three movies. And yeah, I know most of this knowledge is completely useless and unnaplicable in real world situations, but I don’t really care lol

@albert24138 BASICALLY; if Marcus and William had not been bitten, they wouldn’t be Immortal at all (unless the same plague struck again).
@albert24138 When Selene drank from Alex’s blood, the vampire mutation of the already mutated gene mixed with the original, untainted gene. The two overlapped, so the strengths of both genes add up, and the weaknesses of a vampire that aren’t held by a true Immortal got cancelled out. Also, when drinking someone’s blood, a vampire gains access to their memories. So; Selene became twice as strong, and gained the experience Alex gained over the cours eof his lifetime.
@albert24138 Also, the carrier becomes increasingly invulnerable to all manners of injury as well as physically stronger(if the gene is activated). Alex had three sons; William, Marcus, and an unnamed third. William was bitten by a wolf. Marcus was bitten by a bat. The third carried the gene, but it was not activated. The sons that were bitten had their genes activated, but at a cost; they had gained certain severe allergies and weaknesses (UV rays and silver).
@albert24138 . Alexander had a special mutation. This mutation made him invulnerable to a specific plague that hit his village. The reaction between the plague and the mutation activated the immortal properties of his mutated gene. All we know about this gene is that it, if the carrier is bitten by a bat or a wolf, they turn into a vampire or lycan respectively….
@jamesx6x .. besides, marcus never could bear sun lights, despite having the same blood of his own father running in his veins, whim selene does not have, but even so, being first a vampire by viktor, she could bear sun lights by drinking just a bit ..a littler of alexader’s blood ….. And that my nigga, that’s the real controversy ….. and sorry to bother .. but it is so …

Look, at first of the unknown story, I presume Marcus was once immortal only like his father, before being bitten. so reply this, Would Marcus have been stronger than now if he weren’t bitten by such bat? just an immortal, nothing special.. that’d be stupid. the thing is how selene can bear sun lights now, ’cause to my knowledge she’s still vanpire ..

@Odin310 Well, it changes the entire basis of vampires and werewolves. Now that the two are just genetic alterations, it opens up a lot of possibilities for any more movies they might make…. And it makes Twilight “vampires” look like gummy bears

@VVHBM There’s only three vampire elders; Marcus, Amelia, and Viktor. I think William is the only lycan elder, but Lucian might also be one. And both sides considered Alexander Corvinus as an external elder (outside of their covins) becuase he was their common ancestor.
And Michael is a lycan/vampire hybrid. He has the strengths of both species, but none of the weaknesses (this is what a hybrid is). He is not the first hybrid though (technically). Lucian and Sonya’s unborn child would have been the first hybrid, had Viktor not killed Sonya. And yes, she was preggers when he killed her.
OK so for anyone who’s unclear; Selene is now no longer a vampire. This is because she drank Alexander’s blood. He was not a vampire or lycan, he was untainted and a pure immortal. Selene is now a being with the strengths of a vampire, but none of the weaknesses, as well as all the power and experience gained by Alexander throughout his lifetime.
@ladyyaki No that was a lie that Marcus made up so Viktor wouldn’t kill William. But she is now a hybrid, not just a vampire.
